Paul Reynolds at this year’s World Transplant Games

We’re just back from an incredible two weeks – 1st week showing the world the power of organ donation by playing for Team GB at this year’s World Transplant Games in Malaga (even managed a silver in ten pin bowling doubles!). What an emotional moment when I asked the waiter to present my medal to my life-saving sister, Catherine Halliwell, in front of all our supporters (17 in total) and the rest of the restaurant. Then we had a lovely break in Torremolinos with family and friends.

A special mention to my badminton and ten pin bowling partners: Khalid Bostan, Dami Howard, Nick Miller and, last but not least, Vicky Horan. Thank you all for your support; it was a pleasure playing alongside you all! Massive thank you to my supporters from Wigan Badminton Bashers, you helped me no end! We’ve laughed, cried and had so much fun. Meeting my transplant brothers and sisters again was fantastic! Thank you to our amazing team, managers, photographers and volunteers. Thank you all! Also, a special mention to AMF Bowling Wigan for allowing me to practice at reduced rates – it was much appreciated. Never forgetting our amazing NHS, without which we wouldn’t be here.

Last but not least, my amazing family, who have supported me through the good times and bad – love you all! ❤
