Preston Dialysis Unit at the Royal Preston Hospital
Preston Dialysis Unit is based at the Royal Preston Hospital and is open Monday through Saturday and closed on a Sunday, Christmas and New Year Days.
The unit is managed by Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and provides high quality life enhancing renal care for patients in the Lancashire area, offering HD and HDF services in a safe facility accommodating 16 dialysis stations for our chronic population and 12 stations for acute population. The unit is equipped with accessible facilities and free Wi-Fi for patients’ entertainment.

Chorley Dialysis Unit & Home Therapy Department at Chorley & South Ribble District Hospital
Chorley Dialysis Unit is situated at Chorley & South Ribble District Hospital and is open Monday through to Saturday and closed on Sundays, Christmas and New Year Days.
The unit is managed by Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and provides high quality life enhancing renal care for patients in the Lancashire area, offering HD and HDF services safe facility accommodating 12 dialysis stations and a single side room. The unit is nurse-led and equipped with accessible facilities, individual TV screens as well as free patient Wi-Fi for patients’ entertainment.
Chorley is also home to our main Home Therapy Department where patients are trained to be able to dialyse at home.

Clifton Renal Centre
The Clifton Renal Centre was refurbished and extended in the summer of 2022 and is a nurse-led satellite dialysis centre managed by Fresenius Medical Care, on behalf of the Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. The centre has 24 dialysis stations and provides dialysis in a modern and comfortable facility.

Laurie Solomon Renal Centre, Blackburn
The purpose-built state of the art Laurie Solomon Renal Centre in Blackburn opened in August 2022 as a satellite renal centre of the Royal Preston Hospital.
The renal centre was developed and is managed by Diaverum on behalf of Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. They provide high quality life enhancing renal care for patients in the Lancashire area, offering HD and HDF services in a modern and safe facility accommodating 24 dialysis stations.
The centre is nurse-led and equipped with accessible facilities, individual TV screens as well as free patient Wi-Fi for patients’ entertainment.

John Sagar Renal Centre, Burnley
The John Sagar Renal Centre opened in June 2022 and is a 24-station, nurse-led dialysis facility in Briercliffe Shopping Centre managed by Diaverum in partnership with Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. The Unit is accessible and equipped with a spacious waiting area, individual TV screens, free Wi-Fi and patient parking.
Patients will be offered light refreshment while on dialysis and celebrate important dates and social events including birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, charity, seasonal and national events with patients. Reading materials are also available in the clinic.

Furness Renal Centre, Ulverston
The Furness Renal Centre opened in July 2021 is a nurse-led satellite dialysis centre managed by Diaverum, on behalf of the Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. The centre provides dialysis in a modern and comfortable facility, accommodating 12 dialysis stations. All stations are equipped with individual TV screens for patient entertainment during dialysis. For the convenience of patients and their Carers, free patient Wi-Fi is available as well as complimentary patient parking and accessible facilities.
The clinic has a Minimal Care room, which is a separate space away from the main treatment room, where patients who are able, can undertake treatment independently, giving them more flexibility and empowering them to take control of their care, with minimal or no supervision.
